AI video vs classic production: which to choose for your project

When to choose AI commercials, live-action, or a hybrid: trust, rights and budget.

The question is not “is AI cheaper?”

AI commercials can prototype fast and still damage trust. Live-action keeps people, places and products real, but extra scenes cost more. The useful question is: what must the viewer believe?

Choose live-action

If the product’s shape, finish or a person’s eyes do the selling, shoot it. Corporate trust, HR, factories and hotels all trigger the same viewer question: is this real? AI can dress a background; the proof should still be photographed.

Choose AI

Unbuilt spaces, expensive destruction, variant testing and previsualisation are where AI is strong. Short social experiments can also move faster in generation. Logos, pack copy and hands are still often added later for safety.

Hybrid is often the adult answer

Media7’s stronger results usually look like this: product and people are filmed, then atmosphere, transitions and impossible shots are built in AI. That keeps trust and still buys scale.

Rights and risk

Generated faces, voices and music need a clear licence. Changing a product’s true shape can break marketplace and advertising rules. Every frame is checked before approval: anatomy, type, mark, material.

How to read the budget

AI can look cheap until forty generations, selects and composites equal half a live day. Live-action needs rooms and a crew. Decide on the credibility the film needs, not on the cheaper label.
