How to plan photo and video content for a website

A new or refreshed site looks weak on stock photos. How to plan web, photo and video together in Baku.

A website is not finished at layout
When UI is ready but photo and video are missing, the page feels empty. Stock makes you look like every rival. On Baku web projects Media7 ties design and production into one brief.
A page-by-page list
Hero, services, About, team, portfolio and contact. Each block needs its own size and ratio. Heroes often want 16:9 or a wide frame; team pages want portraits.
Where video works
A short loop in the hero, a 60–90s film on About, small previews on service cards. Heavy files kill speed — ship a compressed version and a poster still.
Photo priority
Hero and key service images first, then team and detail. One shoot day can cover web and SMM frames together so site and social share one face.
Align with branding
Colour, type and logo space are planned into the frame. Dark heroes with white type need a clean zone left or right. Agree that with the designer before the shoot.
SEO and speed
Alt text, filenames and dimensions affect SEO. Keep 4K masters in the archive; send WebP and mid-size JPG to the site. Video goes to YouTube or self-hosting plus a poster.
Media7 flow
Sitemap and wireframe → content list → shoot → select → place on the site. When web, photo and video sit with different vendors, style splits. One crew keeps one light and one brand.
When to shoot before the site is finished
Once the wireframe exists, sizes are known — safer to shoot. Waiting for full design only stretches the project. Agree at least the ratios for hero, services and About. When Media7 runs web, photo and video in one brief, reshoot risk drops.
